A GPS watch uses wrist-top Global Positioning Satellite technology to provide a convenient mapping device for the outdoor enthusiast. The Garmin Forerunner 110 is a GPS-enabled unisex sports watch that provides the easiest way to track your training. The Forerunner 110 uses GPS to accurately record your distance, time, and pace. The data from every run is stored in the unit, so you can conveniently go back and review how you did last week or last month.

The Forerunner 110 is Garmin’s simplest training device yet. Once out of the box, you simply charge it, take it outside to find GPS satellites and answer a few questions. You then just press start and off you go. Once you’re finished, you just press stop and that’s it. Some versions even come with a heart rate monitor to display your heart rate in beats per minute. It even provides heart rate based calorie computations so you can accurately track the calories that are being burned.

Portable GPS systems typically work by receiving a signal from a satellite or satellites to determine where they are located on Earth. This signal is then pinpointed on preloaded road maps that help provide directions. After a destination point has been entered into the map, it is simply a matter of following those directions. The Garmin Zumo 220 is a motorcycle GPS that features a bright, glove-friendly, color touchscreen display that gives you all the information you need in an easy-to-read format.

The display is easy on the eyes whether you are riding in the bright midday sun or on a moonless night. It also has an intuitive interface that makes entering information as easy as changing gears. This motorcycle GPS unit is designed with a rugged waterproof case that resists fuel sprays and ultraviolet rays. The affordable, compact Zumo 220 motorcycle navigator mounts neatly on your bars ready to guide you with spoken street names sent wirelessly to your Bluetooth-enabled helmet or headset.

GPS stands for the Global Positioning System which refers to a system of satellites and receivers that allow people and devices to pinpoint their precise location on Earth. Renting a Car

posted by Never-Lost @ 1:06 PM
Thursday, May 12, 2011

My family and I needed to go to San Francisco from San Diego. We decided to do some sight-seeing and rented a car. For a few extra dollars, they would install a GPS. It was not like our Garmin Dakota 10 but it did pretty well. We got a good deal on the car because we were going to rent it for a week and would even drop it off at the same place.

There are really some pretty good deals with car rentals. This is our first time to rent that’s why I was surprised with the good prices. I thought it would be prohibitive, but then thinking about it if it’s prohibitive then nobody would rent so it does make sense. I wonder why I never thought of that before. Renting a car while sight-seeing is a good way to see places.
